With our Leather color you can bring leather and artificial leather back into top condition. Whether it's car seats, leather couches, jackets, shoes, or boat upholstery – this guide shows you the correct order for applying Leather degreaser, leather dye and Leather sealing.
1. Degreasing leather – the perfect preparation
Before dyeing, the leather must be thoroughly cleaned of dirt, grease and residues to ensure optimal adhesion of the leather dye:
- A soft, clean cloth with the Leather degreaser moisten slightly.
- Wipe evenly over the surfaces to be treated – with open-pored leather (e.g. suede or aniline leather) only very briefly to avoid water marks.
- Tip: Not all grease stains can be completely removed – but degreasing is crucial for an even color result.
2. Apply leather dye – scratches, abrasions & compensate for color loss
After degreasing, the color refreshment or repair follows with our high-quality Leather color:
- Apply the paint thinly with a sponge or spray gun – work from seam to seam for an even result.
- For small damages, apply selectively – ideal for Scratches, cracks or abrasions.
- Allow each layer to dry with a hairdryer or in the air.
- Apply several thin layers depending on the desired coverage.
A notice: Only dye areas that are visibly damaged or faded – this will preserve the natural look of the leather.
3. Seal leather – protection & Care for long durability
The Leather sealing provides lasting protection against abrasion.
- Apply evenly with a soft cloth – not too thick and do not polish.
- Allow to dry without heat or hairdryer.
- For heavily used surfaces such as seats, armrests or steering wheels, reseal every 3 months.
