Our recommendation: Set M is the most practical basic kit for most real repair jobs. Set L is the best choice if you don't already own the cleaner and protector. Set S is particularly suitable as a supplement to existing VILOU products.
30 or 50 ml – which quantity should you choose?
Small, localized application
For individual repair areas with manageable paint requirements, for example a small seat side, a handle area or a limited piece of furniture.
Choose 30 ml Set MMore space or material reserve
For larger areas, multiple repair spots, or when several thin layers of paint are likely to require more material.
Choose 50 ml Set MNo blanket commitment to a specific area: Consumption and range depend on the substrate, color difference, application method, number of layers and size of the repair.
Repair process in the correct order
Check material and damage
Only work on suitable, stable, pigmented smooth or synthetic leather. Have large or unstable damage professionally assessed.
Clean and degrease if necessary.
Remove all dirt completely. Remove grease, silicone, wax, or care product residues before repair and painting.
Filling the depression
Apply liquid leather only to suitable, palpable damage, thinly and in layers. Allow each layer to dry completely.
Apply leather dye thinly
Apply the appropriate color in several thin layers using a sponge, allowing it to dry between coats.
Seal
After the paint has completely dried, apply a thin coat of sealant to further protect the surface against friction and staining.
Provide care according to needs
For the complete Set L, use the Protector according to the product instructions for care, UV and aging protection.
Black, vehicle color, or furniture color?
Black is not automatically black: The black leather repair kit may not match every manufacturer's black paint color. It's best to check the original color code with the vehicle or furniture manufacturer.

- Do not use this product indiscriminately for Alcantara, suede, nubuck or open-pore aniline leather.
- Test all products and the color shade on a hidden area first.
- Liquid leather is not necessary for every scratch and does not replace sewing or upholstery work.
- Have large cracks, seam damage, brittle areas and peeling artificial leather professionally assessed.
- Allow to dry or air out completely between work steps.

Which leather repair kit is suitable for most repairs?
Set M contains the essential components for preparation, filling, tinting, and sealing. Set L is useful if cleaner and protector are also required. Set S is particularly suitable if preparation and protection products are already available.
What is the difference between 30 ml and 50 ml?
The 50 ml version offers more paint, or in the case of Set M, more degreaser and sealant. It is suitable for larger areas, multiple spots, or when you need more material. The actual amount required depends on the damage and the thickness of the coating.
Does every set include liquid leather?
Yes, the black S, M, and L systems compared here each contain 10 ml of black liquid leather. However, it is only used in cases of suitable, palpable damage.
Does the black set match any black car leather?
No. Manufacturers use different shades of black. If possible, check the color shade with the manufacturer and first check the respective brand category.
Can I use this set to repair a large hole or a damaged seam?
Not a simple surface repair. Large holes, unstable edges, damaged seams or padding should be assessed by a saddler or upholsterer.
When do I need Set L?
