Leather cleaning, leather care and protection for car leather and furniture leather
Leather is a high-quality material that embodies elegance and durability. To ensure that car and furniture leather retain their beauty and suppleness over the years, regular cleaning and care are essential. Here are some tips for optimally caring for your car and furniture leather.
- Cleaning:
For cleaning leather, it's important to use solvent-free cleaning products. The ideal leather cleaner has an acidic pH. Start by vacuuming to remove loose particles. Then, test the leather cleaner on an inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't have any adverse effects on the leather. Apply it with a soft sponge or brush. Be careful not to use excessive moisture to avoid damaging the leather. We always recommend using a cleaning foam. Remove the dirt with a soft cloth.
- Care:
After cleaning the leather, proper leather care is essential. Use only high-quality leather care products. Our Leather Protector has a conditioning effect, keeping the leather soft, supple, and preserving its vibrant color. Additionally, the antioxidants slow down the deterioration of the leather, and the special UV filter effectively prevents fading caused by sunlight. The leather protector should always be applied thinly with a soft cloth.
- Protection:
Protect your leather with a leather sealant. This is not to be confused with leather conditioner. The composition is completely different, and it's designed to achieve a different effect. Our leather sealant optimally protects your leather surface against the inevitable abrasion from use, as well as against color transfer from clothing. Leather is constantly subjected to mechanical stress from getting in and out of the vehicle, as well as movement across the leather. New leather has a sealant that is reduced or even lost through inevitable abrasion during use. Worn sealant allows the leather color to become discolored. Furthermore, the applied leather color is unprotected and can wear off completely with use. Therefore, all leather should be permanently sealed.
