Leather colour consumption on a test area

Estimate colour quantities by recording consumption on a known area, using consistent units and allowing separately for tools and transitions.

Meaning

Test-area consumption is the colour needed for a documented coating system over a known area. It is informative only when substrate, preparation, colour change and application match the main project.

During planning

Divide the test quantity by the test area and multiply by the project area. Use the same area units. The result is an estimate, not guaranteed coverage. Allow separately for tool residue, transitions and a reserve. Calculate filler and top coat separately; they are not included in colour consumption.

Check product suitability and follow the instructions before use.
