Leather grain and surface texture
Leather grain is part of a repair's appearance. A matching colour can still look different if the surface texture is obscured.
Meaning
Grain is the visible surface pattern of leather. It may be natural or produced through additional embossing. A single photograph of the texture cannot reliably establish the precise leather quality.
During repair
A matching patch may remain visible if thick application covers the texture. Work in thin coats and avoid filling depressions unnecessarily. Leather colour alone cannot recreate missing texture. Compare the sample with a neighbouring area that is as unworn as possible.
