As a general rule, the leather should be thoroughly degreased before color refreshing/dyeing with the Leather Degreaser. For scratches, abrasions, and minor fading, the original color of the leather can be refreshed with our BMW Leather Dye. After dyeing the leather with the Leather Dye, we recommend sealing the leather. This seal protects against further wear and tear and is comparable to a clear coat as a protective layer.
Our leather dye refreshes the original color. It is opaque and abrasion-resistant.
For color changes we recommend using a spray gun.
Always test all products first in an inconspicuous area for changes or color accuracy!
Application:
1. Leather degreaser
Lightly moisten a clean cloth with Leather Degreaser and gently wipe over the greasy areas. Especially with open leather (suede, aniline leather, etc.), only briefly brush the cloth over the leather to avoid marks and stains. Not all greasy areas can be completely removed. After cleaning with Leather Degreaser, the leather must be re-protected with Leather Sealant.
2. BMW leather color
Apply the leather paint for BMW evenly to the affected areas from seam to seam using a sponge or spray gun and dry with a hairdryer. For small areas, applying it to the affected area is sufficient. Only treat areas with color changes. If high coverage is required, apply the leather paint in several thin coats, drying with a hairdryer in between.
3. Leather sealing
Apply a thin layer of leather sealant with a soft cloth and allow it to dry without polishing. One coat is sufficient. For heavily used surfaces, repeat every three months.
