Masking for leather repair
Protect neighbouring materials during leather repairs while checking that the masking material will not damage a sensitive finish.
Meaning
Masking protects nearby surfaces from unwanted colour or product application. These may include plastics, fabrics, controls and decorative stitching. The tape must suit the substrate; its adhesive or removal can damage an already weak coating.
During repair
Test both sticking and removal in a concealed area. Avoid loose old paint and do not push liquid beneath the edge. Plan contact time and removal according to material instructions. Stop if the surface lifts and assess its stability. Masking cannot replace a suitable colour match.
