🛠️ Leather repair with degreaser, liquid leather, color & sealing

This guide shows you step by step how to Clean, repair, dye and protect leather surfaces – ideal for smooth leather on cars, furniture, jackets or shoes.


1️⃣ Leather Degreaser – Surface Preparation

  • Lightly dampen a clean cloth with Leather degreaser moisten.
  • Carefully wipe away greasy areas – especially with open-pored leathers such as suede or aniline, only go over them briefly to avoid stains.
  • Some grease spots cannot be completely removed, but the adhesion of subsequent products is improved.

2️⃣ Liquid leather – fill damaged areas & model

  • Spread evenly with a spatula and let dry for 1-2 hours, depending on the fill level.

Important: In the case of larger damages, a uniform surface cannot be achieved by filling alone.

  • Solvent method: Apply a little acetone or nail polish remover to a latex glove and gently rub the area with your finger.
  • Sanding pad method: After it has completely dried, carefully smooth it with the sanding pad.

Always use solvents sparingly—too much can damage the repair. The area can be remodeled several times until the result is satisfactory.

Color adjustment: After drying, the repair area must be Leather color adjusted to compensate for color and gloss differences.

Apply a thin layer several times, drying with a hairdryer in between. Afterward, be sure to seal and condition.


3️⃣ Leather color – color matching & surface finishing

  • Leather color Apply from seam to seam with a sponge or paint sprayer.
  • Small areas can be targeted with dabs.
  • Let it dry with a hairdryer in between.
  • If necessary, apply several thin coats for optimal coverage.

Only treat the areas that have actually changed color – this way the leather look remains natural and authentic.


4️⃣ Leather sealing – protection against abrasion & pollution

  • Leather sealing Apply thinly with a soft cloth.
  • Allow to dry completely without polishing.
  • For long-term care of heavily used surfaces, repeat every 3 months.
