🛠️ Repair leather with sanding pad, liquid leather & Leather dye – instructions
With this step-by-step guide you can repair Scratches, cracks and breaks in the leather Fast and durable. Suitable for smooth and synthetic leather – ideal for car seats, sofas, shoes, jackets, or boat upholstery.
1️⃣ Leather sanding pad – smooth out unevenness
- Rough spots, broken edges or protruding fibers with the Leather sanding pad sand carefully.
- A surface that is as smooth as possible makes repair with liquid leather easier.
- Remove sanding dust with a cloth or leather degreaser.
2️⃣ Liquid leather – fill damage & model
- Open tube and Liquid leather press into the damaged area.
- Spread evenly with a spatula and let dry for 1-2 hours.
- Repeat the process several times if necessary until the surface is smooth.
Note on smoothing: Liquid leather must not be sanded dry!
If post-processing is necessary, you can proceed as follows:
- Something Acetone, nail polish remover or solvent Apply to the index finger (with latex gloves) and gently smooth the area.
- Alternatively, carefully rework with the sanding pad.
- Important: Always use solvents sparingly – too much can damage the repair area.
The repair can be remodeled until it is visually satisfactory.
3️⃣ Leather dye – balance the color tone & refine surface
- Leather color Apply thinly with a sponge or spray gun – always from seam to seam.
- Treat small areas selectively and dry with a hairdryer in between.
- For optimal coverage, apply several thin coats.
Only treat areas with a color change – this way the original look of the leather is preserved.
