🛠️ Repairing leather with a sanding pad, liquid leather & Leather dye – instructions

With this step-by-step guide you can repair Scratches, cracks and breaks in the leather Fast and durable. Suitable for smooth leather and synthetic leather – ideal for car seats, sofas, shoes, jackets or boat cushions.


1️⃣ Leather sanding pad – smooths out uneven surfaces

  • Rough spots, broken edges or protruding fibers with the Leather sanding pad Sand carefully.
  • A smooth surface makes repairs with liquid leather easier.
  • Remove sanding dust with a cloth or leather degreaser.

2️⃣ Liquid leather – filling damage & model

  • Open the tube and liquid leather Press into the damaged area.
  • Spread evenly with a spatula and let dry for 1-2 hours.
  • Repeat the process as needed until the surface is smooth.

Note regarding smoothing: Liquid leather must not be sanded dry!

If post-processing is necessary, you can proceed as follows:

  • Something Acetone, nail polish remover or solvents Apply to the index finger (with latex glove) and gently smooth the area.
  • Alternatively, carefully rework the surface with the sanding pad.
  • Important: Always use solvents sparingly – too much can damage the repair area.

The repair can be reworked until it is visually satisfactory.


3️⃣ Leather dye – color matching & Surface finishing

  • Leather color Apply thinly with a sponge or spray gun – always from seam to seam.
  • Treat small areas sparingly and dry with a hairdryer in between.
  • Apply several thin coats for optimal coverage.

Only treat areas with color changes – this way the original look of the leather is preserved.
