BMW Leather Care: Clean, protect and maintain

Proper BMW leather care depends on the material, condition, and level of wear and tear. Intact leather requires cleaning and conditioning – not necessarily leather dye.

Which treatment is correct?

Dirty, but intact

Clean appropriately for the material and maintain after complete drying.

Dry or stressed

Use suitable care products sparingly and avoid residues.

Paint rubbed off

Maintenance does not replace a missing layer of paint. Check the color and repair structure separately.

BMW leather types differ

Dakota, Montana, Nevada, Nappa, Vernasca, and Merino leathers can have different surfaces and care requirements. Sensatec and Sensafin are not classic leather types and should not automatically be treated like natural leather.

Application

  1. Determine material and condition.
  2. Remove coarse dust.
  3. Test the cleaner covertly.
  4. Work in sections and without soaking the area.
  5. Allow to dry completely.
  6. Apply a suitable care product sparingly.

Not for use on Alcantara, suede, nubuck or nubuck leather, unless the respective product is specifically designed for it.
