BMW leather color Coffee: Repairing color wear and refreshing leather
Coffee is a deep brown color from newer BMW interior design ranges. The matching leather color is used to specifically refresh color wear and faded areas.
Does Coffee go well with my BMW?
BMW used the color name Coffee Depending on the model series, model year, and upholstery type, different trim levels are available, including Sensafin and Merino leather in selected newer models. Therefore, the name alone does not guarantee a perfect match: If possible, check the equipment code, vehicle data, or a concealed area of the original. If you are unsure, our color matching service can help before you order.
What quantity is appropriate?
- 30 ml: small abrasions and individual seat bolsters
- 50 ml: multiple local spots or a larger seat bolster
- 100 ml: one seat or several occupied areas
- 150 ml: larger contiguous areas
The actual coverage depends on the substrate, color change, absorbency, and number of thin coats. For cracks or depressions, you will need a suitable repair compound before painting.
How to properly refresh BMW leather in Coffee color
- Clean the surface thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
- Carefully remove grease, care product residues and silicones.
- Smooth rough edges; repair cracks or depressions beforehand.
- Check the color tone in an inconspicuous area.
- Apply leather dye thinly and evenly in several coats.
- Allow to dry thoroughly, then protect and care for it appropriately.
Suitable – and when not?
Suitable for surface-dyed smooth leather and, depending on the product, suitable synthetic leather surfaces on seats, seat bolsters, armrests, or door panels. Do not use without prior testing on open-pore aniline leather, suede, Alcantara, heavily oiled surfaces, or structurally cracked material. Deep tears, open seams, and larger holes require a customized repair method.
Special features of Coffee
Brown tones react strongly to light and existing patina. Therefore, compare in several places and only judge the sample after it has completely dried.
