Leather glossary: Leather colour adhesion

Leather colour adhesion

The right treatment depends on leather type, surface finish and damage. Test in a hidden area first.

For pigmented smooth leather, clean and degrease first. Fill minor defects if needed, apply thin colour coats and seal after drying. Avoid thick layers.

Absorbent leather, deep tears or damaged seams require specialist advice.
