Applying leather colour
Applying leather colour is an important term or step when caring for and repairing finished leather surfaces.
Application
Before treatment, identify the leather type, existing finish and extent of damage. Test products in an inconspicuous area to avoid unexpected colour or sheen changes.
For typical surface repairs, the sequence is cleaning, degreasing, filling small defects if needed, applying thin colour coats and sealing after drying. Not every leather type is suitable for opaque colour; absorbent leather requires different care.
Important
Work sparingly rather than applying thick layers. Deep tears, brittle material or damaged seams should be assessed professionally.
