Mercedes R107 leather dyeing, care and repair
Preserving leather, selectively refreshing aged color layers and properly assessing damage – without unnecessarily reworking the existing surface.
Consider original condition and patina
In older Mercedes interiors, sunlight, care products, use, previous re-dyeing, and replaced components can alter the visible color. Therefore, a protected original area is usually more informative than a heavily worn seat bolster.
Color tone rule: Model series and photo alone are not enough. Check equipment details, material type, original location, and gloss level together.
What treatment is necessary?
Clean and care for gently. Do not unnecessarily dye over the patina that is worth preserving.
Prepare the surface and apply suitable leather dye in several thin layers.
First, clarify the repair process; paint alone will not close a crack or stabilize brittle leather.

- Driver's seat bolster and entry edge
- seat, backrest and headrest
- Leather steering wheel and gearshift area
- Armrests and door panels
Quantity orientation
- 30 ml: small abrasion mark
- 50 ml: typical seat cheek
- 100–150 ml: larger seating areas as a guideline
Material limits
Use only on suitable, stable material and test in an inconspicuous area. Do not use untested on open-pore aniline leather, suede, nubuck, nubuck, Alcantara, or microfiber. Have open seams and larger holes professionally assessed.
