What does your Mercedes leather need?

Cleaning and caring for leather

For intact, soiled or dry surfaces without a missing paint layer.

Refreshing color wear

For light scuff marks and damaged paint layers on suitable pigmented smooth leather.

Repairing cracks and depressions

First build up the damage, then color it appropriately and protect the stressed areas.

Mercedes leather care: Test the material before use.

Depending on the model series and equipment, Mercedes interiors may contain pigmented smooth leather, Nappa leather, ARTICO man-made leather, DINAMICA, or material combinations. Therefore, a care system designed for pigmented smooth leather should not be applied to every interior surface without prior testing.

  • Intact pigmented smooth leather: Clean gently, let dry, and then apply a thin layer of moisturizer.
  • ARTICO or other coated synthetic leather: Test product release and compatibility in an inconspicuous area.
  • DINAMICA, Alcantara, nubuck or suede: Do not treat with the smooth leather care products described here.
  • Light-colored scuff marks or missing paint: Leather care does not replace leather dye; first properly assess the damage.
  • Crack, open seam or brittle surface: Assess the structure before maintenance and repair if necessary.

How to clean and care for Mercedes leather seats in 5 steps

  1. Determine the type of material and its condition on the seat, cheek, and side areas.
  2. Remove dust and loose dirt.
  3. Test the cleaner in a hidden area and gently clean the surface according to the product instructions.
  4. Allow the material to dry completely and check again for color abrasion or damage.
  5. Apply suitable care products sparingly and evenly; avoid residues and only use the surface after it has completely dried.

Steering wheel note: A Mercedes leather steering wheel requires different preparation than an intact seat surface due to skin oils, friction, and the stress of gripping it. Do not simply apply a care product over existing shine or color wear.

Accurately determine the Mercedes color code

A color name alone is not enough. Model, year of manufacture, equipment code, leather type, age, and previous care can all influence the shade and gloss level. Photos and screens are for guidance only. If unsure, compare to a protected original area or Request a color consultation.

Basic rule: Do not order based on body color or model designation. Check the material, interior color, and damage together.

Material limits

Many pigmented smooth leathers and suitable coated synthetic leather surfaces can be refreshed. Do not use without prior testing on Alcantara, suede, nubuck, or open-pore aniline leather. Have open seams, large holes, and brittle material professionally assessed.
