✅ Preparation
- Workplace should be bright, dust-free, and at a room temperature of approximately 15–25 °C.
- Carefully tape over the steering wheel inside the vehicle (seams, airbag, plastic/metal parts).
- Wear disposable gloves; shake the product bottle.
🔧 Step-by-step instructions (without liquid leather)
Degreasing
With leather degreaser & Clean thoroughly with a soft cloth; degrease the grip areas (10–2/3–9 o'clock) particularly carefully. Allow to dry.
masking & test
Carefully mask off seams/decorative parts. Test the paint in an inconspicuous area (check adhesion/gloss level).
Apply paint – thin & multi-layered
Black leather dye with applicator thin Apply. Two to three very thin coats are better than one thick one. Allow to dry briefly between coats.
Recommendation: Surface lukewarm Using a hairdryer (not hot) promotes networking.
sealing
After complete drying, apply a thin coat of sealant. It protects against abrasion and hand perspiration.
💡 Professional tips
- No liquid leather needed: Original leather retains its feel & Visible, no rigid filler layers. Only necessary for deep scratches, holes, etc.
- Working thin: Thin layers = higher abrasion resistance & improved optics.
- Please note the contact hours: Allow to air dry briefly between layers and dry with a hairdryer.
- Standard care: Refresh the protective layer with sealant every 3-6 months.
❌ Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Insufficient cleaning → adhesion problems. Solution: Degrease thoroughly.
- Paint layer too thick → cracks/peeling. Solution: 2-3 very thin layers.
- No sealant → faster abrasion. Solution: Always seal the finish.
- Premature exposure leads to shiny spots. Solution: Rest for 24 hours, then build up strength for 7 days.
